Improving productivity in your business helps you get more accomplished in less time and although there will be times where you’d much rather chill out on the couch and watch TV; it’s important to understand that what you do in your business today will affect it 3 months down the road.

For some people, it’s easier to view productivity in the currency of time rather than efficiency. If you think about the fact there are only 24 hours in a day, 60 minutes in an hour, and 60 seconds in a minute. If you live 60 years, you will have lived 525,600 minutes. Psychologically that works for some people and while you can lose and gain money, esteem, friends, possessions and more, the one commodity you can never get back is time.

Believe it or not, efficiency is sometimes about doing nothing at all. Taking a break or time out to mentally prepare for what comes next is also being efficient. When managing my clients diaries and workload, downtime is always something I always ensure they include to recharge their batteries as well as baring in mind their preferences when it comes to booking meetings or calls… the minute something starts to feel like a chore the more likely you are going to give it up.

The real key to remember is that everyone has unique needs when it comes to maximizing efficiency for optimal productivity. Not one thing works for everyone as well as the fact we all have different goals and intentions too!
